​Meet Karen Dass. She's loud, meticulous yet has a sincere and charming heart. A lovely additional to the ZRCLC community for many years now. 

DANIEL LEE

Part-Time Volunteer Teacher


Daniel has been volunteering at ZRCLC through the Fishing Rod Society, an affiliate of CHARIS, since 2019.  His current vocation is in helping poor children in the region attain basic education.  Prior to that, he spent 27 years in a professional career in the banking industry in Singapore.

WE ALSO DEPEND ON THE ASSISTANCE OF VOLUNTEERS BASED IN KL TO SUPPORT OUR FULL TIME TEAM THOUGH CO-TEACHING DURING NORMAL SCHOOL HOURS,  ADDITIONAL 1-2-1 CLASSES FOR STUDENTS WHO NEED THE EXTRA ATTENTION AND EVEN OUR CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

CECILIA MI MI WIN

Head Teacher


Cecilia is the oldest serving full time staff member 


A refugee herself, Cecilia has been teaching our tiny tots English and Math over the past 9 years. 


​Cecilia is an avid singer who also loves sports particularly football. Once a fortnight she is the resident nurse for the school's mobile clinic

MANAGING A CLASSROOM OF YOUNG CHILDREN IS NEVER AN EASY TASK. OUR TEACHERS RELY ON THEIR OWN EXPERIENCE WHEN DEALING WITH OUR CHILDREN.

PETER ARULANATHAN

Part-Time Volunteer Teacher


Peter started volunteering since 2014 and since then has continued his service on a weekly basis without fail


A Malaysian and an ex-advertising executive, Peter retired from the industry and and now divides his time between teaching at the school and contributing his talents at the Sacred Heart Church.


An avid singer involved in choir groups, Peter sings with the students before school as he introduces different songs from across cultures to them.

WE ARE IN CONSTANT SEARCH FOR TEACHERS WHO CAN ENHANCE THE LEARNING OF OUR STUDENTS BOTH ACADEMICALLY AND NON-ACADEMICALLY


we understand that time is a concern for all volunteers and hence we are happy to work with a commitment as low as 1 hour a week, four hours a month

Genavi joined us in 2023 teaching our Preschoolers


Genevieve is responsible for the early development of our children especially their speach & moteor skilss


An avid cook, Genevieve enjoys exploring local produce in Malaysia to add to her repetoire of homedishes.

Joseph joined us in 2023 teaching Math & English to our Primary Level children. 


​Ever ready to lend a helping hand, Joseph's mild natured personality,  optimism and "cattitude is easily absorbed by the children he interacts with. He loves spending his friend over the weekend and football is the preferred choice. He is always looking for the opportunities to learn new skills that willl help him support refugee community better. .


ANGELA DAWT CUAL ZING

Angela joined us in 2023 teaching our Nursery 1 & 2 children.


Apart from the usual teaching of literacy and numeracy, Angela enjoys infusing music into the curricullam as much as she can.


Her cheerful personality finds her often in a room of happy and expressive children
