5th Station - Simon Helps Jesus

Because by your holy cross you have redeemed the world.

Reader
Consider how weak and weary Jesus was. At each step He was at the point of expiring. Fearing that He would die on the way when they wished Him to die the infamous death of the cross, they forced Simon of Cyrene to help carry the cross after Our Lord. 

Reflection
Simon didn’t come to help Jesus but to see what was going on. Then he was ordered by the soldiers to carry the cross, because Jesus was having such a hard time.

Are we like Simon who needs to be reminded to help others?

Prayer : All
Jesus sometimes I don’t want to help my friend, brother, sisters or parents when I am asked. Help me to have an open of heart like Simon to respond to the needs of others even when I may not be ready or know how to. AMEN
